Tonikaku Akarui Yasumura(とにかく明るい安村), he succeeded in Britain’s Got Talent.
As he performed his jokes, everyone at the concert venue gradually got more enthusiastic🙂
In the end, he received a standing ovation, which is absolutley amazing achievement any other Japanese never have achived before until this time.
When I saw the movie, I got an impression just “Awesome”.
・Tonikaku(とにかく) means anyway, no matter whatm or so.
・Akarui (明るい) means cheerful.
・Yasumura(安村) means His name “Yasumura”
First he is called “Tonikaku” ,but Yasumura, and finally called the nickname “Tony”:)

Originally, he did the same type of this joke here in Japan in 2015, and at that time his killer phrase “Don’t worry I’m wearing (pants)” was really popular and nominated as one of the most popural phrases and rewarded in the Grand Prize in the Japanese Buzzword Contest in 2016 .
But after the boom ends, he got less popular immediealty.
Normally the comedian who do a short performance like him is popular for a certin period time of the boom , however, once it is gone, they cannot retain the popularity and are forgotten by people:(
Buuuuuuut, he made it in UK and bloomed a second time.
His joke is really simple and easy to be understood by everybody.
Furthermore, he slightly changed(localized) his orginal joke.
Foot ball, hose rase, and James Bond are very familiar with UK people, so I would say his staretegy was great and this was a factor of his success.
Anyway, I’m soooooo glad to hear his success and enjoyed his jokes(UK ver.)
